The Slovak film *Otec*, which premiered at the 20th Cinematik International Film Festival in Piešťany, is enjoying extraordinary success. Weeks after its distribution release, it has already been seen by over 100,000 viewers in Slovak cinemas.
This milestone confirms the strong interest of domestic audiences in quality Slovak cinematography and thematically strong stories that reflect family, society, and personal responsibility.
The film "Otec" captivated not only audiences but also critics – after its premiere at Cinematik, it received positive reactions and became one of the most discussed Slovak titles of the year.
Unfortunately, the film didn't even reach 10,000 cinema-goers in Czech cinemas. This is also an indication of the absolute disinterest of the Czech public in Slovak cinematography. The film had to be released in Czech cinemas with subtitles.
