111 films in 6 days and every single one of them is worth seeing. So says PR manager and member of the Cinematik IFF programme team, Peter Konečný. In a podcast just before the start of the 21st edition, he talks about how the Danes manage to make world-class films even on a small budget, who will receive the talent of the year award and lifetime achievement recognition at this year's Cinematik, as well as the growing interest in the film festival.
Aside from Danish cinema, the organisers will screen films from a total of 30 countries. Many of them have picked up awards from prestigious festivals. According to Peter Konečný, however, one shouldn't just go for the „headliners“, but also give a chance to films that might seem less conspicuous at first glance.
