The Edge of the Blade

Vincent Perez

Paris, 1887. Duels are officially banned but remain a common practice for settling disputes and defending honor—if you’re a man. However, Marie-Rose Astié de Valsayre believes this shouldn’t be the case. A bold and intelligent woman, she decides to set an example by challenging the arrogance and superiority of men with a weapon in hand. To do so, she seeks the help of Clément Lacaze, a stern and unapproachable master swordsman who has just lost his young nephew in an uneven duel. What initially seems like an unthinkable alliance becomes an unexpected challenge for these two very different characters, where matters of honor and heart intersect.
