When a person overcomes the fear of making a mistake, the fear of their own fear, they become free. This realization came to five women from the village of Devičany near Banská Štiavnica. They took an axe, cut a hole in the ice at the Veľká Vodárenská reservoir, and started winter swimming. Breaking through the barriers of gender stereotypes is not easy in a small village in the Hont region, but winter swimming and laughter give these friends the courage they need. Their shared hobby has become a form of therapy that helps them change their lives.
